Mat Franco Teams Up with The Animal Foundation to Promote Summer Adoptions of Shelter Pets
LAS VEGAS – Las Vegas Strip headliner magician Mat Franco is expanding his partnership with The Animal Foundation to help promote shelter pet adoptions during the busy summer season. A shelter dog owner himself, Mat has been one of The Animal Foundation’s most consistent celebrity supporters. In 2016 he launched an annual campaign to collect supplies and monetary gifts, which over the years have helped save hundreds of lost, unwanted and abandoned animals at the shelter -- the largest in Nevada.
This summer’s campaign, featuring Mat in print, outdoor, radio and television advertising, strengthens Mat’s partnership with The Animal Foundation and his commitment to helping some of our city’s most vulnerable residents. It aims to encourage valley residents to adopt and not shop when looking for a new pet.
“On any given day, there are hundreds of loyal, loving shelter pets at The Animal Foundation looking for permanent homes,” said Mat. “They deserve a second chance, and I’m determined to help any way I can. I’m happy to support the important work The Animal Foundation is doing in our community, which has been incredibly supportive of my residency over the last three years.”
“We’re so grateful to Mat for sharing the spotlight with our shelter pets this summer,” said Christine Robinson, Chief Executive Officer for The Animal Foundation. “As we put the finishing touches on our campus expansion, it’s the perfect time to for us to welcome new adopters through our doors. Mat’s big-hearted efforts will help us do exactly that.”
The Animal Foundation recognized a major milestone in its mission to save all healthy and treatable animals in the Las Vegas Valley by the end of the year 2020 when it opened the new Engelstad Foundation Adoption Center earlier this year. Part of an aggressive five-year campaign known as Mission: Possible 2020, the new Engelstad Foundation Adoption Center now provides a permanent facility with safe and comfortable housing for cats and other small animals, as well as administration offices and community education facilities. A complete renovation of the 15-year-old Lied Animal Shelter, scheduled to be completed by the end of this month, will provide hospital-grade longer-term animal housing, improved isolation areas for the sick, and more comprehensive veterinary care with an expanded and upgraded clinic.
