'Boring' dog headed to foster home after being returned for being too calm
Las Vegas (KSNV) — The Animal Foundation is asking for the community's help in locating a loving family for a very good boy.
Officials with The Animal Foundation say Duke's constant napping and apparent lack of enthusiasm made him the wrong fit for his last family.
The 4-year-old pup was returned after his new family claimed he is “boring, sleeps all day, and doesn’t get up and greet them when they get home.”
The Animal Foundation poked some fun in their social media post, stating that "If anyone has ever told you, “you must be fun at parties,” Duke is your guy."
Duke is described as a dog who does his own thing and walks well on a leash.
He is also described as a “potty dog” at the shelter, meaning he needs to get out of his kennel to go to the bathroom and is most likely potty trained and able to do his business outside.
UPDATE | A few hours after the story was shared on social media, The Animal Foundation announced that the pup was headed to a foster home.
The next day KSNV visited Duke in his foster home:
Las Vegas (KSNV) — A happy update to a local dog that may have been a little misunderstood by his previous owner.
Earlier this week, we told you about a 4-year-old dog named Duke that was turned into The Animal Foundation because he was 'too boring.'
Since the social media post, the pup has since found a new foster mom.
Her name is Sue and when she heard about this story she jumped into action. She says that she fostered Duke to see if they were a good match for each other, adding that it's been so far so good.
There are still plenty of other furry friends looking for a forever home.
