July 17, 2024

We ended the day with 55 adoptions! Thanks to you, Las Vegas, 55 animals are sleeping safe and sound in a real home tonight.

But we still have 850 animals in the shelter, including 541 dogs. Your help is crucial, so we decided to do it all over again tomorrow!

Join us Thursday, July 18, starting at 11 am to adopt or foster a medium or large dog.

If you can’t foster or adopt, you can still help our shelter animals:

  • Donate gently used crates, collars, leashes, and linens.
  • We know most lost dogs who come to us have homes and families who miss them. Please, if your lost animal is at the shelter, come reclaim them ASAP. We can often help with reclaim fees.
  • Donate from our urgent need wish list: https://bit.ly/3KN9A60.

When we say that we are out of space, this is what we mean.

We currently have 522 dogs on campus and more arriving. Animal Protection Officers are bringing in 12 more dogs with no kennels available. It's only 2 pm, and we're out of room!

Las Vegas, we really need your help. This is a critical space crisis.

Join us TOMORROW, July 17, starting at 11 am to ADOPT or FOSTER a dog. No appointment is needed! All animals are fee-waived to adopt.

Fostering a dog for two to four weeks helps them decompress away from the shelter. Fostering is free, and we provide everything you need.

Here’s how else you can help:

  • If you find a healthy and friendly dog, try to find their owner before bringing them to the shelter. They likely have a home nearby and a family waiting for them to return. In the last two weeks, we’ve taken in 1,288 animals - 66% of those were strays!
  • Check out our urgent need Wishlist:  https://bit.ly/3KN9A60
  • Donate gently used crates, collars, leashes, and linens
  • Reclaim your lost pet at the shelter, we can assist you with reclaim fees
