Seymour’s New Beginning: From Neglect to a Loving Home

When Seymour first arrived at The Animal Foundation, his story was heartbreaking.

This 7-year-old pup had been found tied to a pole in an east Las Vegas neighborhood. He was dirty, matted, injured, and in obvious pain. A concerned neighbor called Animal Protection Services, who rushed him to safety.

Veterinarians discovered multiple injuries that told the story of long-term neglect—and likely abuse. Seymour had two healing rib fractures, an old hip injury, and a new, painful break above his right knee that required immediate surgery.

Despite everything he had endured, Seymour showed incredible resilience. Even in his darkest moments, when he was depressed and barely eating, our team saw the gentle spirit behind his sad eyes.

Thanks to the incredible surgeons at the Las Vegas Veterinary Specialty Center—and the generosity of an anonymous donor who covered the cost of his surgery and medical expenses—Seymour was given the second chance he so deeply deserved.

And the best news of all? Seymour has found his forever family. Today, his days are filled with comfort, snuggles, and the love he has always longed for.

To everyone who donated toward Seymour’s care: thank you. Your kindness ensures that our CARE Fund will be ready to help the next animal in need of lifesaving treatment. Seymour’s story is a reminder of what’s possible when a community comes together to protect the most vulnerable among us.
