Real Stories, Real Impact

Every day at The Animal Foundation, lives are changed—for pets and the people who love them. Whether it’s through lifesaving surgery, a reunion years in the making, or a moment of compassion when someone needs help the most, your support makes stories like these possible.

Seymour’s Second Chance

Seymour was found tied to a pole, bleeding and afraid. Animal Protection officers brought the 7-year-old dog to us with a fractured leg, healing ribs, and an old hip injury—signs he’d likely been hurt more than once. Thanks to our CARE Fund, Seymour received the surgery he desperately needed. Today, he’s healing in a loving home with a family ready to show him nothing but kindness.

Keeping Petey Fed and at Home

Garrett, a retired senior, was struggling to make ends meet—but he refused to let his best friend Petey go hungry. He visited our Community Pet Food Pantry for support. “I want to make sure Petey stays healthy and fed,” he said. In 2024, we provided over 50,000 pounds of free pet food to pet owners just like Garrett—helping keep pets in homes and out of the shelter.

Meant to Be

Marenthia is blind in one eye. Hazel, the dog she adopted, is missing one. From the moment they met, it was obvious—they were made for each other. “It’s meant to be,” Marenthia said. “We’re teammates. We’re always going to be together.” Some matches don’t need perfect vision—they just need love.

A Reunion Four Years in the Making

In 2020, Coco Chanel was stolen from Alessandra’s Las Vegas home. Years passed, but Alessandra kept Coco’s microchip up to date—and never gave up. When Coco arrived at our shelter in 2024, that microchip brought them back together. Alessandra caught the first flight from California to reunite with her beloved pup. “She’s the same Coco she’s always been,” she said through tears.

You Can Make a Difference

These stories are only possible because of compassionate people like you. Whether it’s medical care, food for a struggling pet owner, or a second chance at love—your gift saves lives.
