Help Us Send 30 Dogs to Their Next Chapter
23 March 2026
We have a short window to change the lives of 30 shelter dogs, and we need your help to make it happen.
On April 6, our new partners at Dog Is My Copilot will arrive in Las Vegas to transport 30 dogs from The Animal Foundation to rescue partners in Salt Lake City, where they will find their forever homes.
To get them there safely, we need flight-approved dog crates in a variety of sizes. These crates are required for transport, and right now, we do not have them on hand.
We need to raise $4,000 to purchase the crates in time for the flight.

How You Can Help
Your donation today will go directly toward purchasing flight crates so these dogs can board their flight to a second chance.
Every dollar helps. Even if you cannot cover the cost of a full crate, your contribution gets us one step closer to making this lifesaving transport possible.
Why This Matters

Before Summer Crowding Begins
This transport comes at a critical time. As we head into the summer months, our shelter population rises quickly, especially for large dogs. Creating space now helps prevent overcrowding, reduces stress on the dogs in our care, and allows us to continue to help animals who need a safe place to go.
We Can’t Do This Without Crates
Since this is a new partnership for us, we do not have a supply of flight crates readily available. These crates are required for safe transport, and without them, these dogs cannot make the trip. We are counting on our community to help us get what we need in time so this lifesaving flight can take off.
If this partnership goes well, we’ll be better able to plan around future flights!
About Dog Is My Copilot
Dog Is My Copilot is a nonprofit organization that flies nearly 1,000 animals each month to safety and new homes. Their rescue flights connect overcrowded shelters with communities that have space and adopters ready to welcome new pets.
Many of the animals they transport were at risk of euthanasia. Through these flights, they are given a second chance.
What to Know
This is a brand new partnership for us, and we’re so excited to get these dogs on their way. If you’re wondering how it all works or how you can help, we’ve got you covered.
We need airline-approved flight crates, specifically models like the Petmate Sky Dog & Cat Kennel. These crates are required for safe air transport and must meet strict airline standards for durability and ventilation.
Crate sizes must match each individual dog’s measurements to ensure they can stand, turn around, and travel safely. We cannot purchase crates until the final group of dogs is selected and approved for transport, which happens shortly before the flight.
Yes. We can accept gently used flight crates as long as they are in good condition and airline-approved.
All crate donations must be dropped off by April 4 so we can prepare for the flight.
Timing is the biggest factor. We need to purchase the exact crate sizes in person once dogs are confirmed, and shipping timelines may not align with our deadline.
Donating funds allows us to move quickly and buy exactly what we need, when we need it.
Any additional funds (if there are any) will go toward future transport needs, including additional crates, medical prep for travel, and helping more dogs access lifesaving opportunities like this one.
These dogs will be flown to rescue partners in Salt Lake City, where there is more space and a higher likelihood of adoption.
Dogs are selected based on a variety of factors, including health, behavior, and the needs of our rescue partners. Final approval is coordinated with Dog Is My Copilot shortly before the flight.
