Give a Shelter Dog a Day to Remember

Shelter life can be stressful—even for the most outgoing dogs. The constant noise, unfamiliar surroundings, and lack of personal connection can take a toll. Foster Field Trips offer a low-commitment, high-impact way to help. Whether it’s a casual walk, a weekend sleepover, or a Starbucks stop for a pup cup, you’re giving a dog a chance to breathe, unwind, and just be a dog.

How Field Trips Help

A few hours with you can mean a world of difference to them.

Brain Icon
Provide mental stimulation and physical exercise

A change of scenery boosts a dog’s mood, reduces stress, and gives them a healthy outlet for energy.

Allow dogs to show their true personalities

Many dogs act differently outside the shelter—happier, calmer, more playful. Your feedback helps us better match them with potential adopters.

Valuable Information Icon
Help gather valuable info and media to promote adoption

Photos, videos, and your insights give our team real-life context to share on social media and adoption profiles.

Dog Walking Icon
Give dogs positive exposure in the community

Outings create organic opportunities for dogs to be seen and loved by new potential adopters.

What We Provide

You bring the adventure—we’ll set you up for success.

  • Leash, harness, and “Adopt Me” gear to let people know your companion is looking for a forever home
  • Basic supplies, like a water bowl, treats, and poop bags as available
  • An easy evaluation form to let us know how your pup did
  • Encouragement to snap pics and short videos (we love seeing your adventures and so do adopters!)

How to Take a Field Trip

Fall in Love With Your Dog?

Make a Dog’s Day (or Weekend)

Whether you have a few hours free or want a weekend hiking buddy, Foster Field Trips are a fun and flexible way to help a dog decompress—and maybe even meet their future family.
