Veterans & Valentines | An Adoption Event Honoring Those Who Serve
This February, love is in the air — and it’s wagging its tail. 💕
In honor of the incredible bond between people and pets, The Animal Foundation is proud to host Veterans & Valentines, a special adoption event dedicated exclusively to active duty service members and veterans.
Thanks to the generous support of Penn Entertainment Foundation, adoption fees for all adult animals will be waived for active duty service members and retired veterans during this special event. Veterans & Valentines is rooted in preserving the human–animal bond and creating meaningful connections between veterans and pets in need of loving homes.
While we’re usually closed on Mondays, we’ll be opening our doors for this event to make it easier for veterans and active duty service members to meet their future companions.

Adoption Details
❤️ Adoption fees waived for all adult dogs and cats
❤️ Applies only to eligible participants
❤️ Please bring a valid military ID or proof of service
❤️ A $10 licensing fee may apply depending on the jurisdiction in which the adopter lives

How the Adoption Process Works
🐾 Visit our adoption search page before coming to the shelter to browse adoptable pets.
🐾 Use the QR code on our adoption lobby door to join the virtual waitlist.
🐾 When you arrive, you may browse the adoption area for a pet, or if you have an animal in mind, please note the animal ID#, and you’ll be able to speak with an adoption counselor.
🐾 We do not place holds on pets.
🐾 Please do not bring your current pets for introductions—the shelter environment doesn’t provide an accurate picture of how pets will interact at home.
🐾 The fee-waived adoptions include spay/neuter surgery, up-to-date vaccines, and a microchip.
