My Special Considerations

Mistacle is not adapting well to the shelter environment and exhibiting signs of fear and kennel distress. Mistacle was brought to us for some unforseen circumstances. Since she has been here, she is defensive and trying to make sure there is distance between staff and herself. When trying to leash, Mistacle snaps at the leash. After giving her and extra day to settle in with some anti-anxiety medications, she is not as defensive, but still unsure. With slow interactions, staff has been able to slowly get her to warm up to the point she climbed into staff member's lap on her own and tolerated being handled. This animal would benefit from a quieter place to adjust and become more comfortable with social and environmental changes. Due to the severity of these behaviors, this animal is transfer only and not a foster candidate at this time. Additional behavioral details are available to interested partners upon request.This animal needs placement by 7/8 at 3 PM.
