My Name Is KODA!
Meet Koda, a fun-loving and energetic senior boy who is ready to trade the shelter kennel for long walks, backyard play, and a cozy spot on your rug. His previous family describes him as friendly, active, and easygoing. Koda is a seasoned pro at home life, having successfully lived with children of all ages, small and large dogs, and even cats. He is a house hero who is already potty trained and knows several basic commands.
At the shelter, Koda has proven to be an absolute gentleman. He is very easy to handle and walks beautifully on his leash for his daily strolls. This clever boy is very treat-motivated and proudly shows off his skills, including sit and lay down. Koda truly lives for affection and human connection; he is a big fan of giving hugs to show you just how much he cares. Despite being a more mature boy, he has a heart full of love and a gentle spirit that shines through in everything he does.
Koda is a loyal, resilient, and sweet companion. Because he is transitioning from a long-term home during his senior years, he is looking for a patient family that understands the importance of a dedicated decompression period. It is very much encouraged when introducing new pets one must be safe and gradually over time introduce. The shelter pet needs time to decompress and the resident pets need time to accept. This will ensure a successful introduction. With time to settle in and plenty of love, Koda will be the most devoted friend you have ever had.
If you think you have the time and patience for sweet Koda, then come and meet him. If you think you need more time to decide, ask staff about the foster field trip and foster programs, as it is a great way to give Koda a break from the shelter and a chance to get to know him in a home setting.
My Special Considerations
This boy is underweight and is being treated for an ear infection. If he doesn't begin to gain some weight, diagnostics at a full-service veterinarian may be indicated. Bloodwork is available for review and was within normal limits.
