My Name Is *JALAPENO!

My Special Considerations

Jalapeno is not adapting well to the shelter environment and exhibiting signs of fear and kennel distress. This dog does not appear to be leash trained at this time. They are apprehensive about the leash and may try to avoid it. When on leash, they do not walk consistently and often resist by stopping or refusing to move. With patience and positive reinforcement, they have the potential to improve significantly. This animal would benefit from a quieter place to adjust and become more comfortable with social and environmental changes.

Additionally this dog has tested positive for canine parvovirus. We have treated them with Canine Parvovirus Monoclonal Antibody (CPMA), which is the first and only USDA-conditionally approved, one-dose parvovirus treatment in dogs. We have also begun supportive treatments, but this patient would benefit from more direct and intensive care at a full service clinic. Will need supportive care, isolation, and monitoring until approximately 5/1/26 (7 days post CPMA administration).
