My Name Is *GALE!

Gale is a big boy with an even bigger heart! If you are looking for a large, affectionate companion who is ready to bond, Gale is your guy. He is a gentleman in his kennel and is easy to leash up.
This handsome giant is a fan of the classics—he loves playing fetch! He will happily chase after a ball, pick it up, and bring it right back to you. While he is a strong boy on the leash, he doesn't pull excessively; however, his size means he’ll appreciate a handler who can manage his strength.
The quickest way to Gale’s heart is through beef jerky treats, which he absolutely loves. While he hasn't shown off any specific commands just yet, he is highly motivated by those treats and ready to learn. Once Gale decides he likes you, he truly "melts"—he will lean his entire large body against you and soak up all the affection you can give.
If you think you have the time and patience for a sweet, big boy, then come and meet him. If you think you need more time to decide, ask our shelter staff about the foster field trip and foster programs. It's a great way to give Gale a break from the shelter and a chance to get to know him in a home setting.

My Special Considerations

Gale is not adapting well to being in a kennel at the shelter and is displaying signs of kennel distress and anxiety. Gale got loose from the play-yard, when a staff member was trying to help the victim with another loose dog. He did cause a bite when victim was in between the two dogs. He barks in his kennel but walks well, seeks attention, and is eager to learn once out of the kennel. This animal would benefit from a calmer environment and training to be able to cope with changing environments and separation.
