My Name Is *CALEB!
Come meet Caleb, a sweet older boy who is neutered and ready for his next adventure. He arrived at the shelter on January 3, 2026 as a stray and has been charming everyone he meets. Caleb loves chasing toys, and if you start running, he will happily join in with a burst of joyful zoomies.
He is calm and polite around other dogs and has shown no reactivity when passing them on walks. Caleb is easy to leash and walks nicely by your side. During a foster field trip hike, he warmed up right away, stayed close, and handled rocky terrain like a champ. When a loose dog ran up to him, Caleb remained relaxed and greeted both the dog and a child calmly and appropriately.
Caleb enjoys pets, affection, and staying near his person. He is a gentle, loyal companion who would love a home where he can settle in and be part of the family. He would make a wonderful walking or hiking buddy and an even better best friend.
If you are not quite ready to decide, ask about our foster field trip, foster, or foster to adopt programs. It is a great way to spend time with Caleb and see just how special he is.
"To help Caleb settle into your home, we've packed a special Pup Starter Kit! This kit includes a crate, leash, collar, harness, treats, a slow feeder, and a scholarship for our 5-week ""Bark to Basics"" group training classes. These free classes cover essential skills like basic obedience and manners to help you start off on the right paw together.

My Special Considerations
Caleb is exhibiting signs of arousal and anxiety in the shelter environment and is having a hard time adapting. Caleb can be assertive and tense with other dogs. He is a current playgroup candidate and mostly does his own thing, but can be tense with other dogs, possibly due to being hard of hearing and an older gentleman. This animal would benefit from an environment with less stimulation and some training to help them cope with over arousing stimuli and anxiety.
