My Name Is *UMM HENRY!
Meet Umm Henry!
This charming 3-year-old, 67-lb social butterfly is basically the Walmart greeter of the dog world — he wants to say hi to everyone! Whether it’s people or pups, he happily runs to the fence with his tail wagging like crazy.
Umm Henry has been at the shelter since October 28, 2025, after arriving as a stray, and he’s listed as a potty dog here. He likes to wait til he’s out of his kennel to do his business.
This strong, enthusiastic boy loves his walks (though he likes to lead!), adores treats, and can even catch them mid-air. He’s super smart too — he knows sit, give paw, lay down, stay, and come!
He loves to chase toys, but retrieving them? Nah… he says that’s optional. Because he gets excited, he’ll need a little guidance with jumping and leash manners — but with how food-motivated he is, training should be a breeze!
Umm Henry is searching for a loving home that can give him time, patience, and space to decompress. If you think he’s your perfect match, come meet him today!
Not ready to commit? Ask about our foster field trips, fostering, or foster-to-adopt programs — you’ll give this sweet boy a much-needed break while getting to know him.
My Special Considerations
*Umm Henry is not adapting well to being in a kennel at the shelter and is displaying signs of kennel distress and anxiety. Once Umm Henry outside the kennel, he became excited and began jumping on the handler, with some playful grabbing at sleeves. Redirection was attempted but he was slow to respond. With calm handling and disengagement from the handler, the mouthing stopped and the jumping settled shortly after. He is showing some improvements but still urgently needs out of the shelter to decompress and continue his training in a less stressful environment. This animal would benefit from a calmer environment and training to be able to cope with changing environments and separation. This animal needs placement by 12/23 at 3 PM.
