My Name Is *FARRAH!
Come meet Farrah, a sweet girl who is already spayed and ready to go home today! She arrived at the shelter on January 7th, 2026, as a stray and is listed as a potty-trained dog. Farrah loves treats and is eager to please, knowing the commands sit, give paw, and come, and she’s working on learning lie down.
Farrah adores affection, walks beautifully on a leash, and prefers spending time with people. She was calm and polite around passing dogs and is easy to handle, making her the perfect walking buddy and companion.
This gentle girl is searching for a forever home to start her new chapter, full of love, patience, and care. If you’re not ready to decide right away, ask about our foster field trip, foster, or foster-to-adopt programs. It’s a wonderful way to give Farrah a break from the shelter and time for you two to get to know each other.
Think Farrah could be your perfect match? Come meet her today!
My Special Considerations
Farrah is not adapting well to the shelter environment and exhibiting signs of fear and kennel distress. Farrah is having a hard time at the shelter specifically in the kennel. She is showing defensive behaviors during leashing like growling, showing teeth, snarling and hard barking. She avoids the leash and is difficult to leash up. In the kennel, she is nervous of handling and will head whip and give warnings that she does not want to be pet or touched.
However, outside of the kennel, she warms up quickly. She allows handling and even leans in for more pets. She is a playgroup candidate and shows interest in playing with soft, gentle, respectful friends. She has done well on foster field trips and in homes. Fosters stated ""Farrah was a sweet girl who loved attention from people!" & "As an added bonus she knows the commands sit, paw, down, and come!"
We know that Farrah is more than her in kennel behavior but the defensive behaviors she is showing requires a slow approach and a skilled handler. She needs out of the shelter to decompress and show her true colors. This animal would benefit from a quieter place to adjust and become more comfortable with social and environmental changes. Due to the severity of these behaviors, this animal is transfer only. However, we would consider approving long term foster (3 weeks or more) since she did so well on foster field trips.
This animal needs placement by 1/23 at 3 PM.
