Dusty is a happy, friendly, and active young boy who is ready to bring a burst of joy into a home of his own. This sweet fellow is already a confirmed potty dog, which is a fantastic head start for transitioning into a new household routine. He is a naturally cheerful pup whose happy demeanor is contagious to everyone he meets.
On his walks, Dusty is an enthusiastic partner who likes to lead the way and explore his surroundings with youthful energy. When it comes to other dogs, he is cordial at the fence line, though he can be selectively reactive to certain dogs, meaning he appreciates a handler who can help guide his focus. Dusty is very smart and highly motivated by treats; he already knows the "sit" command perfectly and is currently working hard on mastering "lay down."
As he moves into his new home, Dusty will benefit from an active and patient family that understands the importance of a dedicated decompression period combined with ongoing training and exercise. My Special Considerations
Dusty is not adapting well to being in a kennel at the shelter and is displaying signs of kennel distress and anxiety. Dusty tries to push out of his kennel, he is fecal tracking and panting. This dog is working with our training team daily on leash skills, basic obedience, and good manners. This animal would benefit from a calmer environment and training to be able to cope with changing environments and separation.
