My Name Is GORDO!
Gordo is exactly what his name suggests—a big, lovable, 90-pound sweetheart with an even bigger heart. This 3-year-old neutered male came to the shelter as an owner surrender, and while he may be a little “chunky” right now, it just means there’s more of him to love (and more motivation for some fun walks and a healthy routine!).
Gordo gets to join playgroup at the shelter and enjoys hanging out with select dog friends. He’s got a goofy, gentle play style—when things get a little too rowdy and he gets knocked over, he’ll just roll onto his back and let the other pups sniff him, as if to say, “Okay, you win!” It’s as adorable as it sounds.
Lately, Gordo hasn’t been feeling his best, so he’s been taking things slow. On walks, he’s not too interested in exploring—he’d much rather soak up all the love he can get. His favorite activity right now? Resting his big ol’ head in your lap and melting into cuddles, pets, and hugs. He’s truly just a giant baby who wants to be close to his people.
Despite his size, Gordo walks beautifully on leash, making him a favorite for volunteers of all experience levels. He’s easygoing, affectionate, and a total joy to spend time with.
Gordo would thrive in a home that can help him get back to feeling his best with some exercise, a healthy diet, lots of love, and plenty of snuggle time. If you’re looking for a gentle giant who will happily be your cuddle buddy, Gordo is your guy.
My Special Considerations
This guy came to us with dental disease, skin and ear issues, and an abnormal gait. He is also overweight. X-rays of the hindlimbs are available for review.
Additionally, This dog was diagnosed with an infectious respiratory disease and needs to be isolated from other dogs through 4/26 while being treated.
Since this dog is contagious to other dogs, they are not eligible for meet and greets but they are still available for adoption and foster!
