My Name Is HAZEL!

Some dogs wear their hearts quietly, waiting for the right person to notice the gentle soul beneath the nerves. Hazel is one of those dogs. She is a sweet young girl who is doing her best in a world that can feel a little overwhelming.

Hazel loves treats and is eager to please, especially once she realizes you are kind and patient. She has participated in playgroup with other dogs at the shelter. She does require a slow, gentle approach, as she can be a bit nervous at first, but with time, her true personality begins to shine.

She knows the sit command and feels more secure when you are holding her leash. On walks, Hazel does pretty well, though she may zigzag when unfamiliar noises catch her attention. With reassurance, consistency, and positive guidance, her confidence will continue to grow.

Hazel is searching for a forever home that understands the importance of decompression, training, and daily exercise. She will thrive with both mental and physical stimulation to help her feel fulfilled and secure. In the right home, this sweet girl has so much love and loyalty to give.

If you think you might be the patient, loving home Hazel has been waiting for, come meet her today. If you need more time to decide, ask about our Foster Field Trip, Foster, or Foster-to-Adopt programs. These options give Hazel a much-needed break from the shelter and allow you to get to know each other in a calm, home setting.

Sometimes the most beautiful bonds are the ones that grow slowly. Hazel is waiting for hers.

My Special Considerations

This pup is being spotlighted for one reason only, time. They have been overlooked in the shelter for far too long, and would love a break from the shelter environment where they can relax and just be a dog. The longer they stay in the shelter, the higher the risk of them deteriorating behaviorally and/or medically. If you'd like to foster or adopt this pup, please come in to meet them!
