My Name Is *DOOGIE!

Meet Doogie: A Gentle Soul Waiting for His "Person"

Some hearts don't roar; they whisper. Doogie is one of those hearts. Arriving at the shelter on January 8th, this tender young puppy is looking for a soft place to land and a patient hand to hold.

Doogie isn't the dog who will bark for your attention or jump into your arms—at least, not yet. He is a "slow-burn" best friend. He’s a little shy, navigating a big, loud world with cautious curiosity.

The Way to His Heart: Treats! While he may be timid, his love for snacks is the bridge that leads to his trust.

He’s a gentleman on the leash and was easy to leash up right in his kennel. He wants to be out there with you; he just needs to know he’s safe.

He’s begun showing interest in toys—a beautiful sign that his puppy spirit is just waiting for the right environment to blossom.

Because he was an owner surrender, Doogie’s world has been turned upside down. He is looking for a forever home that understands the beauty of a slow approach. He needs:

Time: To realize he is finally safe.
Patience: To let his personality emerge at his own pace.
Decompression: A quiet space to shake off the stress of the shelter.

"Watching a shy dog finally wag their tail for the first time isn't just a moment—it's a miracle."

If you think you have the perfect home for this sweet young boy, come and meet him today. If you feel you need more time to bond outside of the shelter environment, please ask our staff about our ?Foster Field Trip, Foster Program, ?and Foster-to-Adopt Program?s. These are wonderful ways to get to know Doogie better in a home setting.
