LAS VEGAS, August 8, 2017 The Animal Foundation announced today that it will be partnering with Telemundo Las Vegas/KBLR to participate in the nationwide Clear the Shelter Day event from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM on Saturday, August 19. During the oneday-only event held at The Animal Foundation campus at 655 North Mojave Road, the shelter will waive adoption fees for all animals waiting for forever homes.

Several hundred dogs, cats and small animals, including rabbits, will be available for adoption. The no-cost adoptions (city/government fee up to $10 may apply) on August 19 will include spay/neuter surgery, microchip and up-to-date vaccines.

Clear the Shelter Day is a great national event that raises awareness about the need to find forever homes for shelter pets,” said Carly Scholten, Chief Operating Officer for The Animal Foundation. “We are hopeful that all of our pets will find forever homes in one amazing day.”

The Animal Foundation takes in an average of 80 pets per day and is always in need of patrons to adopt shelter pets.

Clear the Shelter Day is made possible through a partnership between NBCUniversal Owned Television Stations and hundreds of animal shelters located across the country and Puerto Rico.  Last year’s Clear the Shelter Day resulted in more than 50,000 pets finding new homes.
