Las VegasThe Animal Foundation has received a grant for $1,500,000 from the Petco Foundation to support the construction of the shelter’s new Engelstad Family Adoption Center and the growth of the shelter’s variety of animal lifesaving programs. When completed in 2019, the Engelstad Family Adoption Center will provide a permanent facility with safe and comfortable adoption areas for cats and other small animals, as well as administration offices and community education facilities. Among the shelter’s variety of lifesaving efforts are its spay/neuter initiative, its Dogs Playing for Life enrichment program and its program designed to keep animals and their owners together through temporary setbacks.

“Thanks to this generous grant, The Animal Foundation is closer than ever to its Mission: Possible 2020 commitment to save all healthy and treatable animals who come into our care by the end of 2020,” said Daniel Neel, Chief Finance and Development Officer for The Animal Foundation. “With the continued support of The Petco Foundation, I am confident that our progress in caring for animals will only accelerate in the years ahead.”
