Low-Cost Spay and Neuter

Why Spay and Neuter Your Pets? In short, this procedure is one of the cornerstones of responsible pet ownership.

Spaying and neutering pets is required by law in Las Vegas, City of North Las Vegas, Clark County, and City of Henderson for a good reason. It helps prevent dog and cat overpopulation that results in pet homelessness. However, there are many other reasons why you’ll want to spay and neuter your dogs or cats.

Spaying and neutering helps prevent diseases in your pet, including certain types of cancers. These procedures also help keep your pets safe. Altered males roam less and are less aggressive. (Approximately 92% of fatal dog attacks involved male dogs, 94% of which were not neutered.) Surveys indicate that as many as 85% of dogs hit by cars are unaltered. Intact cats fight more than altered cats, making them more susceptible to illnesses such as Feline Immunodeficiency Syndrome, which is spread by bites.

Spaying and neutering makes life easier for both you and your pets. For females, it will eliminate the messy heat cycles that attract male dogs to your house from miles away. Neutering will help eliminate or reduce spraying and marking behaviors.

Surgery is more invasive for abdominal cryptorchid neuters (versus inguinal) and therefore, cannot be completed in our low-cost vet clinic.
