My Name Is BUBBA!

Bubba is the kind of dog who leaves a lasting impression. Estimated to be around 10 years old, this handsome senior was actually adopted from the shelter many years ago and recently found himself back here as a stray. Sadly, no one came to reclaim him — but Bubba is trying his best to look on the bright side and hoping his actual forever family finds him here.

There’s something quietly special about him. He has a playful, joyful personality that shines brightest when he has his favorite squeaky tennis ball nearby. Bubba absolutely loves a good game of fetch and will proudly trot around the yard with his prize, tail wagging the whole time. He’s even learned to proactively sit for the ball because he knows that’s how the fun continues! He can be a little silly about giving the ball back — often preferring a game of keep-away instead — but honestly, it’s part of his charm. In Bubba’s world, life is meant to be fun.

For a senior guy, Bubba is still impressively active and playful. He enjoys romping around the play yard, splashing and relaxing in the kiddie pool, and soaking up every bit of time outside of the kennel. Watching him run around happily with his ball is enough to make anyone smile. Once he’s outside of his kennel, he’s oh-so sweet, engaging, playful, and generally easy to walk.

Already neutered and ready to go home today, Bubba is hoping someone will see beyond the shelter walls and give him the soft landing he deserves. If you’re looking for a dog with personality, playfulness, and a heart full of love, Bubba may be your guy.

My Special Considerations

Bubba is not adapting well in a kennel at the shelter and is exhibiting barrier frustration towards team members and other stimuli. He is struggling with his impulse control surrounding toys specifically, he absolutely loves playing with various types of toys but can get overaroused and hyperfixated on them - he will need continued work on his impulse control. He loves going for walks and getting out in the fresh air! This animal would benefit from a calmer environment and training to be able to cope with changing environments and kenneling. Bubba is now starting to become stressed in the kennel. This dog is working with our training team daily on leash skills, basic obedience, and good manners.

UPDATE: This animal has shown improvement and is responding to interventions provided. The commitment date has been removed for now however this animal would still benefit from foster, rescue, or adoption.
