You must read this PRIOR to filling out the application form. Failure to meet the requirements or follow instructions may cause your application to be delayed, or rejected. The posted job descriptions include the minimum requirements for education and experience for each position.  All applicants must meet the following minimum requirements.

  • Be at least 18 years old when you sign the application form.

  • Be authorized to work in the USA.

  • Have nothing in your background that would prevent you from working for The Animal Foundation. Your background may be checked prior to and after hiring, including but not limited to: criminal, personal references, employment, education, licensing and certification (for certain jobs), and a motor vehicle records check (for certain duties).

  • Not use illegal drugs. Successful applicants will be subject to a pre-employment drug screen. Employees are subject to random, reasonable suspicion, and post-accident drug and alcohol testing.

  • Demonstrate an ability to communicate effectively in English, as all positions require some form of verbal and/or written communication with co-workers and the public.

  • Have basic computer skills, as all positions require use of a computer in some way.

  • Understand the job duties described, perform the essential functions, with or without a reasonable accommodation, and meet the minimum education and experience qualifications.  If offered a job, you will need to show evidence of education completed.

  • Be willing to work a flexible schedule, as most departments operate seven days per week, with some work after regular hours in all departments, including one department with a small swing shift.

Please submit one application for each position you apply for.  A cover letter is required.  The cover letter is your chance to introduce yourself, demonstrate your interest in the company or the job, draw attention to your qualifications, and add anything that may help us decide if your application will be rated high enough for you to be invited for an interview.  For all positions except the Animal Care Attendant, you will also need to upload your resume.  Be prepared by saving your cover letter and resume on your computer, before you start the application.  PDF file format is preferred, if your software is able save documents in PDF file format.

If your application scores high enough to be selected for an interview, you will be contacted at the telephone number on your application. Please do not contact us for the status of your application; it may cause further delays in the screening process.
